Referred to as “Series vs USA” or “Red and White Unite” by Hockey Canada and the “Time is Now Tour presented by Toyota” by USA Hockey, the women’s national teams continue their tradition of “friendly” matches leading up to the Olympics.

It’s a chance for Canada to really test out their roster before they make final cuts (Team USA’s team is final barring something very unfortunate) and for fans to see the absolute best in women’s hockey six times before the stakes ramp right up. Plus, both teams get to prove they can pull an audience - the series takes place in four NHL arenas and two NHL-sized arenas.

After Sunday’s 5-2 win by Team USA, Team Canada head coach Laura Schuler was quite harsh, using language she hadn’t even used when Canada lost to Finland in the round robin at the World Championships this past April.
