The friendly neighbours—I saw fans in Swedish yellow waving Finnish flags in the quarterfinals—won't be so friendly when they face each other for the right to play for gold.
Kasperi Kapanen represents Finland, while Dmytro Timashov represents Sweden. William Nylander will not be playing in the rest of the tournament and is likely to make his way to Toronto before it ends.
Russia at USA

The game pits the classic hockey rivals against each other with the USA having the best goaltending in the tournament, and Russia having a complete game that doesn't show any glaring weaknesses.
Auston Matthews gets a chance to add to his point total—he currently sits at 200th all time and he hasn't even finished his first tournament yet. The Russian players get another chance to make a name for themselves to an audience that's largely ignored them. Yegor Korshkov (Lokomotiv) and Vladislav Kamenev (Milwaukee Admirals) lead the team in points and Ivan Provorov (Philadelphia Flyers prospect) is their standout on defence.
Relegation
Switzerland secured their place in next year's tournament with two convincing wins over Belarus who now move down to the Division I tournament. Switzerland will play in the group that begins in Montréal next year.
