The Marlies have clinched the regular season championship. The rest of the games are tuneups for the playoffs.
On Sunday, the Marlies set a franchise record for points in a regular season with 110 by shutting out the Albany Devils.
T.J. Brennan was named to the all-star first team.
Signings
On Friday the Marlies signed Shane Conacher, Chase Witala and Mason Marchment to AHL contracts.
Conacher, who we profiled when he was signed to an ATO, has played 6 games and has 2 goals and 1 assist and is averaging close to 2 shots on goal per game.
Witala and Marchment had not played a single game before they were signed. They both appeared in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Syracuse Crunch and Sunday's win over the Albany Devils.
Callups
The Marlies called up Éric Faille from the Orlando Solar Bears. The Solar Bears have been eliminated from playoff contention, and it's not clear if any other players such as the excellent Brett Findlay will be called up when their season is done.
EDIT: today the Orlando Solar Bears announced that Brett Findlay, T.J. Foster, Patrick Watling and Brendan Miller have been called up by the Marlies.
We needed another T.J., so that's good. The total number of roster players for the Marlies is.....a big number we are struggling to add up.
Reassignments
Coming back from their tour with the Leafs are Garret Sparks, William Nylander, T.J. Brennan, Tobias Lindberg, Frédérik Gauthier, Sam Carrick and Andrew Campbell. Kasperi Kapanen, Viktor Loov and Nikita Soshnikov had already been reassigned.
Injury Status
Andrew Campbell took a hit to the head in the last Leafs game and left the game. Nikita Soshnikov and Viktor Loov had both been out with injuries as well, and neither has played since being reassigned.
Surplus to Requirements
The team confirmed that goalie Alex Stalock has been released to return home.
Latest Action
Check out Sunday's highlights of a 3-0 shutout win with a lineup full of ATOs. Éric Faille opened the scoring, and Bibeau worked for it, as the shots on goal were 35-18 for Albany. That's a stand up guy, who has your back when you're playing for a contract.
