This has grown out of a throwaway post that I wanted to use to get comfortable with some of the site's new toys. Little did I know what I was starting. Earlier episodes can be found here (one two three four five six). This is the seventh overall and the first since the second one that does not deal exclusively with JFJ players that are out of the NHL. And people wonder why the Leafs suck...These guys are still in the NHL at least.

I did not like Ken Klee. He was far too slow and had a knack for ending up on the end of highlight reel goals. He was traded for Suglobov who is now out of the NHL so maybe the Leafs should have traded him for something else.
Drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 3rd round (70th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
Remember when Telly was the goalie of the future? He just needed to get used to the North American angles and stop playing with his skates planted on the red line.

Then came the back-to-backs with Montreal in 2006. Could he have played any worse? So now he's a desert dog but he isn't Phoenix's goalie of the future either as he splits time with Bryzgalov. He is, however, better statistically than any of the guys that have replaced him which surely gives him a chuckle and makes me thankful that he isn't a Leaf anymore.

Peca was coming off of the Oilers' miracle run to Game Seven of the Stanley Cup final during which he had reminded people why he was held in such good regard. Sean McCormick wrote a great article about how stupid he was to join the Leafs because the Oilers were the bestest team ever in the history of the league and were starting another glorious run! Funny how that worked out eh jagoff?
Anyway, another local boy had his time with the Leafs cut short by injury. This time it was Jim Vandermeer's dirty knee which broke Peca's leg.

So if a goalie had the stats in the little box on a terrible team and then the stats in the big box while backstopping a good team what would your conclusion be? Would you think that maybe the team in front of him and their awesome defensive excellence that they have maintained for over a decade had played a part? Sure, if you weren't Damien Cox. Here's another goalie that gets thrown in our faces by idiots.
Anyway, this seven part series is, I think, now done. Check them all out and see if I missed anyone. Keep in mind that these are all mostly from the JFJ era. Unreal.
