The last time Frank Corrado played an NHL game was March 12, 2015. As a member of the Vancouver Canucks, he dressed for 16:15 against the Los Angeles Kings, had a clean stat line, and that was that.
Because despite being a member of the Maple Leafs for the entire 2015-16 season to date, Corrado hasn't suited up once for them. The 22-year-old did play seven games for the Marlies, scoring three assists for them over that time period, but that's been it.
This is due, largely in part, to waiver wire rules. Corrado has to stay on the Leafs' NHL roster in order to remain a member of the Leafs organization - something the team obviously wants, even though they haven't been playing him.
When asked about his situation, all Corrado can really say is that he's doing his best in practice and keeping himself ready for the day he eventually is called on to suit up in the NHL - whenever that day may be. "It's not like I can go play anywhere else right now."
Even though Mike Babcock has yet to play him, though, he says he does have a plan for the defenceman (who is the second-youngest on the roster, older than just Morgan Rielly):
