Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!
In a wonderful bit of news, the Edmonton Oilers lost two of their top RFAs to the St. Louis Blues after they chose not to match the offer sheets sent to Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway.
It looked like they were going to match but decided against it. So the Blues got their guys and the Oilers got their picks.
The Blues also sent Edmonton a thank you gift.
So that saga ends on a kind note. Aside from George Armstrong threatening to do it again.
In other news, the Philadelphia Flyers are beginning the process to terminate Ryan Johansen's contract, citing "material breach".
This seems to be in connection to an injury he had before the trade from Colorado.
Shockingly, Major League Hockey - the NHLs newest rival - will not happen.
The man who was behind WHA2 and other failed ventures is once again not delivering.
The Seattle Kraken locked up Matty Beniers for seven more years.
Alex Nylander is ready to join William in Toronto.
There's still time to get in on NHL Alumni action for a good cause, tonight in Brampton.
Finally, the McGill Redbirds are in Czechia to prepare for the U SPORTS season and got some motivation from a hockey legend.
Enjoy your day everyone!
