Just over a minute into overtime in a 1-1 tie, Sergei Andronov took a pass from Nikita Zaitsev through the neutral zone and walked in and won the game and the West Conference final in a sweep of SKA St. Petersburg.
With rumours abounding that the Leafs are in talks with Zaitsev's agent right now, it seems like the Cup final is all that's holding the process up.
Zaitsev has one goal and six assists so far, leaving him one point shy of his playoff total from last year. He's putting in just over 22 minutes a game on the top pairing, getting power play and penalty kill time and is always confident and on his game.
Moscow CSKA moves on to play the winner of the East Conference final between Metallurg MG and Salavat Yulaev
If you like rumours, you might want to also check out the one about Zaitsev's teammate Alexander Radulov
There's also the winning goal to watch, if hockey's more your thing.
