It's Monday morning which means two things: that it's time to head to the polls and vote in the Fan Confidence Poll. Last week's tally was 32 which gives us a run of 64-68-66-60-61-66-73-77-64-53-42-39-52-32 since the inception of the poll. The last three weeks have seen the team's fortunes fluctuate much less than the poll results would indicate. This past week the Leafs went 1-1-1 albeit with a heartbreaking last second loss to Tampa and a disheartening shellacking at the hands of fellow rebuilders Edmonton. Of course, they then beat one of the beast of the East in Boston. Why make things make sense?

Over the past 10 the Leafs are 4-5-1 and for the second time this year the Leafs responded with a great game when the talk about firing Ron Wilson had been approaching a crescendo.

This is a reminder that what we're trying to track is your thoughts on the following:

How likely are the Leafs to make the playoffs?

So what happened over the past week?

  1. The week started with a number of goals being broken down to try to divine any sort of connection among the goal-causing errors. Conclusion: Stupidity seems to be a common theme.
  2. On the ice, the Leafs had a perfectly mixed bag. They lost their first game of the week to the Lightning after allowing a goal with less than 10 seconds remaining in the third and an overtime marker.
  3. As much as Chemmy warned us, the Oilers still managed to pants the Leafs. The team's response has to make you wonder whether the team had given up on Ron Wilson.
  4. And then, amidst talk of what options might exist for dealing with Wilson, the Leafs pulled a victory out of the fire againts one of the NHL's best goalies as Kadri's shootout goal helped push the Leafs over the Bruins.
  5. JP also managed to find time to take a look at how the Leafs' giveaways are calculated. Turns out that they might be poorly counted at home.

So that is the week that was. Vote in the top left hand side of the front-page and then explain your rationale. If you're lurking, this is a great spot to come into the light.
