Are the Chicago Blackhawks a dynasty? Some out there think so, with an asterisk of course. The Blackhawks are the first Cap Era dynasty. They don't match up to the Oilers or Canadiens of old, but the Blackhawks are playing under different rules. Skill level and equipment changed between eras before, but I believe the salary cap is the dividing line between those dynasties that could keep teams together as long as the owner could afford it and this one, where some offers that were mailed instead of faxed could spell disaster.
So congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks. Three cups in six years is an awesome feat no matter what you call it. Congratulations to the Lightning as well. They are a truly talented team and hopefully there's another cup run in the group next year.
