The Anaheim Ducks acquired goalie Ville Husso from the Detroit Red Wings in what many expected to be a bigger trade that possibly included John Gibson, but that ended up being it. Husso, on a $4.75 M contract, was sent from Detroit to Anaheim for future considerations (read: free) to help the San Diego Gulls with their playoff push after their goalie went down. Considering the cap space Anaheim has, they didn't mind buying a goalie for free. Husso, who many expected to be the next big thing when he was in St. Louis (ala Eric Comrie) has mostly been an AHL goalie for Detroit on a bloated contract.
There's no dot to connect between Ville Husso trade to Anaheim and a potential John Gibson trade.

In AHL San Diego, Calle Clang is out month-to-month and Oscar Dansk is only other goalie with experience. They want San Diego to make playoffs.
Gibson expected back this week.
Mitch Marner and his wife, Steph, are having a baby. the news was broken by Jake McCabe's wife, Gaby.
Marner spoke about his national team experience in a practice interview.
Justin Bourne has some thoughts on who the Leafs should acquire at the deadline. I also believe the Leafs' best trading partner is Boston, if they were anyone else but Boston. I like Jordan Oesterle and Parker Wotherspoon as cheap third pair depth. I like Trent Frederic a lot as a 3C option who bites and moves the puck. I've wondered if Morgan Geekie could be available, too, as an option up the middle.
Goalie friendship!
