UPDATE:
.@SportChek Player Alert: The @MapleLeafs have recalled forward Trevor Moore from the @TorontoMarlies (AHL) on an emergency basis. #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/Tg9xlxpCZ2

Because Par Lindholm was traded and Nazem Kadri is hurt, that leaves the Leafs with only 11 forwards, allowing the emergency recall. By doing it as an emergency, he does not use up a recall slot. By doing it after 3 p.m., he is still eligible for the AHL playoffs.
TOR will call up Trevor Moore for tonight's game vs BUF.

To maintain AHL playoff eligibility, this would not happen until after the deadline at 3 p.m.
If this report is correct, this lends credence to the rumours swirling around the Leafs today that a trade involving a forward and potentially Jake Gardiner is in the works.
Chris Johnston said today on the radio that the Leafs are doing something big according to other teams, all while they are putting out the impression publicly that they are not doing anything. This is leading to speculation about the ever-elusive right-shooting defender. He is absolutely saying this is what he is hearing as opposed to what everyone else is saying, and that no one should expect the Leafs to get a rental. This will be a “hockey trade”.
"I've had a few other people externally from other teams suggest they believe the #Leafs are working on something big...and that they're in the market to get that right-shot defenceman."@reporterchris with @SNJeffBlair #BlairShow #LeafsForever.
