Today the Toronto Marlies announced that they re-signed Rich Clune to a new two year contract:

Rich Clune suited up for about half of the Marlies regular season games this year, chipping in four points (1G, 3A). Seen as a goon when he was first brought in, Clune has still been playing rough, but has cut his penalty minutes in half since his debut season.

Clune has been with the Marlies for three seasons so far, and at 31 is a veteran in the AHL and seen as a player to help the Maple Leafs prospects navigate the life as a professional hockey player and prepare themselves for the NHL. An integral part of the Marlies off ice, Clune will be there to help usher in the next few rounds of prospects to the Maple Leafs organization.
