The Marlies are playing three games in three days; actually a span of a little under 72 hours. The first game is tonight in Rochester. There will be some new faces joining the team tonight, including a much talked about veteran.

Brooks Laich was a surprise on waivers on the last day before the start of the NHL season. Many assumed he would make it on the Maple Leafs, partially because of management talking up the value of veterans in the room, and partially because most of his $3.55M cap hit will stay on the books while he is in the AHL. Laich did not play in the Marlies home-opening weekend games vs. the Ice Caps, but it appears he's now made the line up, on the fourth line.
The Amerks are the AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. Notably playing on their team tonight is first round draft pick Alexander Nylander, brother of our own William.
We will be watching closely and recap this game to let you know how he Marlies coach Sheldon Keefe deploys him in our post-game recap.
The Marlies next two games on Saturday and Sunday are against the Manitoba Moose.
