Jake Gardiner was born 29 years ago today. Apparently the United States has a holiday to commemorate this day. At least I think that’s what it’s about.
So why hasn’t Gardiner signed? We don’t know. Though you could say there’s some kind of elaborate plan in the works so that he returns to the Maple Leafs. It’s possible!
Beyond Gardiner, there’s a slew of other free agents no one really wants to buy, but must now make do with. July 4th is like walking into Best Buy three days after Black Friday. The only deals left are on outdated off-brand electronic gadgets and a rack of CDs featuring the greatest hits of the 1990’s.
