Happy long weekend, Toronto Maple Leafs fans!
Over the last week we here at Pension Plan Puppets Kitten Ranching, Basement Renovations, and Hot Takery, LLC have been hard at work bringing you the start of the Top 25 Under 25 countdown. Some people have called us silly. Some have said we’re geniuses. Now, it’s your turn to take the brunt of the comments and hate mail because today we reveal the community vote for numbers 25 to 21.
First, a recap of last week’s articles.
#25 - Joseph Duszak

2019 T25U25 #25: Joseph Duszak
The Mercyhurst free agent cracked the top 25 in his first year of eligibility. I remember where I was when he signed: At the Buffalo Science Museum next to my kid who was rolling on the floor laughing at Dik-Diks.
#24 Frederik Gauthier

Top 25 under 25: Frederik Gauthier returns to the list at #24
The controversial first round pick made the list after missing it for a few years. What does this mean? Has the Leafs young player pool gotten worse? Has he gotten better? Did we lose our minds? Oh...you just wait on that last one.
#23 - Mason Marchment

Top 25 Under 25: Mason Marchment holds position at #23
Another year, and Marchment stays put at #23. Will he stay put on the Marlies though? That’s the question.
#22 - Semyon Der-Aguchinstev
Related
Top 25 Under 25: Semyon Der-Arguchintsev pops up at #22
Semyon dropped down two spots from #20 to #22 this year, but he should be making a big improvement in his OHL play this year. Should be.
#21 - Egor Korshkov
Related
Top 25 Under 25: Egor Korshkov still at #21, but with a new name!
Egor got one letter lighter in his name, and was almost ranked by every voter. If he’s playing on the Marlies next year we may no longer be pining for Alex DeBrincat.
Now, it’s time for the community vote.
#25 - Dmytro Timashov
Highest Rank: 7 (1 vote)
Lowest Rank: 25 (26)
Number of Votes: 194/424
2018 Community vote: 17th
Timashov didn’t make the PPP list, coming in at 27th in voting. He fell eight spots in the community vote this year, so he’ll need a big year in the AHL this season to stick in people’s minds better.
#24 - Frederik Gauthier
Highest Rank: 8 (1 vote)
Lowest Rank: 25 (15)
Number of Votes: 195/424
2018 Community vote: Unranked
Well, well, well. Look who you also have at #24. Those snarky tweets don’t look so good on you now do they? This is what a full season in the NHL gets you: put on some arbitrary list by bloggers and blog readers.
#23 - Semyon Der-Arguchintsev
Highest Rank: 5 (1 vote)
Lowest Rank: 25 (26)
Number of Votes: 239/424
2018 Community vote: #25
Our #22 is your #23. He actually moved up in the community rankings after making the list at #25 last year. Even the biggest Peterborough Petes fan couldn’t put him #1, and we appreciate the restraint.
#22 - Egor Korshkov
Highest Rank: 3 (1 vote)
Lowest Rank: 25 (12)
Number of Votes: 241/424
2018 Community vote: #23
Korshkov was PPP’s #21 player this year, staying in place, but he moved up one spot from 2018.
#21 - Mac Hollowell
Highest Rank: 1 (2 votes)
Lowest Rank: 25 (10)
Number of Votes: 268/424
2018 Community vote: Unranked
Hollowell hasn’t appeared on any PPP lists yet, but makes his 2019 debut on the community vote at #21. He wasn’t ranked by you last year, but got picked by more than half of you this year.
Now what about the mystery box? Good question. I picked a winner but haven’t heard back yet. If I don’t hear from you by Wednesday I’m picking a new name so Mr. Hunter (no, not that one), please check your email!
