Yesterday, the Toronto Maple Leafs traded for Tomas Plekanec and a meh AHLer from the Montreal Canadiens for two meh AHLers and a 2nd round pick. It gives the Leafs pretty ridiculous depth, as they can now run out four effective lines. We churned out a bunch of content related to the trade:
When the news broke — Leafs Acquire Plekanec, Baun from Habs for Valiev, Rychel, 2nd.
An in-depth look at what the Leafs acquired — With Tomas Plekanec, the Maple Leafs have vastly improved their centre depth.
An in-depth look at what the Leafs gave up — What the Leafs gave up in the Tomas Plekanec trade.
We’ll have some more content out about the deal later today.
The Leafs expect Plekanec to join the team in time to play the Tampa Bay Lightning on the road tonight. Hopefully the Lightning don’t have time to bring in Erik Karlsson, if that rumoured deal ever actually happens...

As of writing this last night, we can safely say that Erik Karlsson will likely be traded to San Jose
Hearing the San Jose Sharks are making a serious push for Erik Karlsson. Bobby Ryan’s possible inclusion a major stumbling block for the Sharks.

...or Tampa Bay...
Tampa Bay is a preferred destination for Erik Karlsson. Something other suitors will have to keep in mind for potential extension purposes.

...or Nashville...
Corroborating reports from earlier here but Nashville has emerged as a second team in the Karlsson hunt.

...or Vegas...
McKenzie: "By the way, Vegas is actually one of the teams that is talking to Ottawa about Erik Karlsson, I believe."

So I assume all this means that by the time this actually gets published Monday morning, Karlsson will have been traded to Colorado or some weird shit like that.
Where will Karlsson to wind up?
Tampa Bay | 30 |
Nashville | 12 |
Vegas | 34 |
San Jose | 19 |
Probably fucking Chicago or some bullshit like that | 119 |
