Today the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that right-shooting defender Justin Holl has been re-signed to a two-year contract:

Holl made Maple Leafs history last season when he scored a goal in his first two NHL games, the first time any Maple Leaf has done so. To top things off, he did it on the fathers’ road trip, so his dad got to see it in person.
He was a key piece for the Toronto Marlies Calder Cup win this spring, as a solid defender in their own end.

According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, the deal is one way so Justin will be making $650,000 in both the NHL and AHL. Year two of the deal is his first UFA year.
Holl will have as good a chance as he ever had to make the Maple Leafs out of camp this fall, with his name top of fans’ minds for call up defenders.
