This afternoon the Toronto Maple Leafs announced they have signed goaltender Jhonas Enroth to a one year contract worth $750,000.
The signing of Enroth ends the wonder of who will back up Frederik Andersen this season, and guarantees the duo of Sparks/Bibeau will man the Marlies nets.
Enroth played for the Los Angeles Kings last season, backing up World Cup Team USA starter Johnathan Quick. Enroth started 13 games (played 16 total) and posted 2.17GAA and a .922 sv%, 2 shutouts, and most importantly, 7 wins.
Enroth’s busiest season was 14/15 where he started 44 games, mostly with the Sabres who traded him away because he was too good in their unsuccessful tank for McDavid.
With the Maple Leafs goal situation figured out, could there be any more moves before camp starts? We’ll have to look to new Assistant General Manager Mark Hunter to find out.
QUICK PANICKY REACTION?!
