Six months after he was drafted, Sean Durzi is no longer a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect. The kid who saw his dream come true when he was drafted by his favourite NHL team never even got a contract before being traded out to California.
If he ever needs someone to talk to about this, Brad Boyes can help him out.
Durzi was one of the most talked about players taken outside the first round from the 2018 draft and after watching him in person it isn’t hard to see why. He’s a dynamic player with the puck who knows where all of his teammates will be and how to best support them in play. Everyone I’ve spoken to about Durzi says he’s one of the top players in the dressing room as well.
So, today we’ll included him in the report and take a look back at what we’ve said about him over this half year.
Kevin has lots of highlights in his Top 25 report on Durzi.

#11 - Mac Hollowell (D) - 2G, 1A, +2
Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds - 31-10-5-1 - 2nd in Western Conference
Jan. 26th: vs Peterborough Petes
W 8-2 - 1G, 1A, +2
Jan. 27th: vs Kitchener Rangers
L 4-3 OT - 1G, 0A
Hollowell has silently been the Leafs best defender outside of the minor leagues, just like his Greyhounds teams. Everyone expected them to be sellers, not contenders.
I’ll be at the Greyhounds @ IceDogs game on Thursday night. Let me know if you have any questions about Hollowell.
#5 - Sean Durzi (D) / #29 - Fedor Gordeev (D)
1G, 1A, +3 / 2G, 0A, +3
Guelph Storm - 25-13-5-4 - 4th in Western Conference
Jan. 25th: vs Owen Sound Attack
W 6-1 - 1G, 0A, +4 / 1G, 0A, +2
Jan. 26th: @ Erie Otters
L 3-2 OT - 0G, 1A, -1 / 1G, 0A, +1
A two goal weekend for Gordeev! He’s been doing great since he moved on from the FIrebirds as most players would when they play for a better team.
#19 - Semyon Der-Arguchintsev (C) - 0G, 3A, -3
Peterborough Petes - 23-22-1-1 - 8th in Western Conference
Jan. 24th: vs Saginaw Spirit
L 5-4 - 0G, 1A, -1
Jan. 25th: @ Sudbury Wolves
L 7-4 - 0G, 2A
Jan. 26th: @ Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
L 8-2 - 0G, 0A, -2
The Petes are moving down the standings, and SDA’s point per game pace isn’t helping as much as it should. Overall, the Petes aren’t performing as they should be and it could cost them some playoff games at a time they’re looking to get a new arena built.
#19 - Ryan McGregor (F) - 3G, 2A, +5
Sarnia Sting - 20-22-5-2 - 6th in Western Conference
Jan. 26th: vs Niagara IceDogs
L 4-3 - 1G, 1A, +1
Jan. 27th: vs Hamilton Bulldogs
W 8-4 - 2G, 1A, +4
McGregor has been off my radar a lot of the season, brushed off because he’s on the Sting and I confuse him with Ryan O’Connell a lot. However he’s been having a great season when healthy. His first two games back from his latest injury say him score three goals and add two assists and is just behind Mac Hollowell at the top of the prospects point per game list.

#18 - Riley Stotts (C) - 0G, 2A, +1
Calgary Hitmen - 24-19-3-1 - 2nd Eastern wild Card
Jan. 25th: vs Prince George Cougars
W 4-1 - 0G, 1A
Jan. 27th: vs Kootenay Ice
W 4-1 - 0G, 0A, +1
Jan. 29th: @ Regina Pats
W 5-2 - 0G, 1A
The Hitmen went on a much needed win streak, giving them a five point cushion between playing the playoffs and watching them.
#18 - Filip Kral (D) - 0G, 1A, -5
Spokane Chiefs - 24-17-2-3 - 1st Western Wild Card
Jan. 22nd: @ Seattle Thunderbirds
L 2-1 - 0G, 1A, -1
Jan. 25th: @ Kamloops Blazers
L 3-0 - 0G, 0A, -2
Jan. 26th: @ Tri-City Americans
L 3-1 - 0G, 0A, -2
The Chiefs are the opposite of the Hitmen. A three game losing streak dropped them out of the US Division playoff spots and into the wild card. The Spokane back end was letting the team down as the losses were all close games.
#33 - Ian Scott (G) - 45sv, 48sh, 0.938sv%

Yeah, the Raiders are great, Ian Scott is great.

#33 - Zachary Bouthillier (G) - 40sv, 43sh, 0.930sv%
Saint John Sea Dogs - 11-34-2-1 - 9th in Eastern Conference
Jan. 25th: vs Baie-Comeau Drakkar
L 5-3 - Did Not Play
Jan. 26th: vs Chicoutimi Sagueens
L 3-1 - 40sv, 43sh, 0.930sv%
The Sea Dogs split the games last week - both were losses - but Bouthillier is handling the onslaught of shots against him well.
USHL
#14 - JD Greenway (D) - 0G, 0A, -2
Dubuque Fighting Saints - 17-14-3-3 - 4th in Eastern Conference
Jan. 25th: @ Madison Capitols
W 3-2 OT - 0G, 0A, -2
Only one game last week and Greenway didn’t contribute much for the Saints.

#31 - Joseph Woll (G) - 47sv, 53sh, 0.887sv%
Boston College Eagles
Overall: 8-12-3 / Conference: 8-4-3
Jan. 25th: vs U-Mass Lowell
L 3-1 - 18sv, 20sh, 0.900sv%
Jan. 26th: @ U-Mass Lowell
T 4-4 - 29sv, 33sh, 0.879sv%
Not a great week for the Eagles, but they’re still hanging on to second place in Hockey East, which is good for the playoffs, but they’ll need to win it all to make sure they get a spot in the NCAA playoffs.
#8 - Dakota Joshua (F) / Ryan O’Connell (D)
Ohio State Buckeyes
Overall: 15-5-4 / Conference: 8-3-3
No games last week
