Ian Scott was the focus of last weeks report, but it’s hard not to make it two in a row. He’s played amazing for the Raiders ever since he returned from the injury he suffered in his first game back in the WHL from Leafs camp. A .924 save percentage is great for the WHL, even if it’s just been four games.
Let’s not get too excited, but hey it’s always good to celebrate hard work.
Ontario Hockey League
#77 - Eemeli Räsänen (D) - 0G, 0A, +2
Kingston Frontenacs - 6-5-1-2
Oct. 27th: vs Mississauga Steelheads
L 2-1 OT - 0G, 0A, +1
Oct. 29th: vs Saginaw Spirit
W 3-2 OT - 0G, 0A, +1
The Frontenacs played extra time both games this weekend, and went 1-1 in 3 on 3. Räsänen went pointless but still played some good defense over the weekend.
#55 - Keaton Middleton (D) - 1G, 0A, -3
Saginaw Spirit - 3-8-2-0
Oct. 26th: @ Peterborough Petes
L 5-3 - No Points
Oct. 28th: @ Ottawa 67’s
L 11-3 - 1G, 0A, -3
Oct. 29th: @ Kingston Frontenacs
L 3-2 OT - No Points
The Spirit seem to be losing their spirit as the team is on a three game losing streak, which is also how many wins they have on the season.
#15 - Fedor Gordeev (D) / #6 - Nicolas Mattinen (D)
0G, 0A, -3 / 0G, 1A, -6
Flint Firebirds - 6-7-1-0
Oct. 27th: @ London Knights
L 8-2 - 0G, 0A, -3 / 0G, 1A, -2
Oct. 28th: vs Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
L 7-0 - Did Not Play / 0G, 0A, -2
Oct. 29th: @ Sarnia Sting
L 6-2 - No Points / 0G, 0A, -2
The Firebirds were riding high before this weekend, but after a four game losing streak, and giving up 21 goals last week versus scoring only four themselves. Not a good result for a team that hosts Leafs defenders.
#19 - Ryan McGregor (F) - 0G, 2A, +3
Sarnia Sting - 14-1-0-0
Oct. 27th: vs Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
W 6-3 - No Points
Oct. 29th: vs Sarnia Sting
W 6-2 - 0G, 2A, +3
The Sarnia Sting haven’t lost a game since the second game of the season, and are currently on a 13 game winning streak. If the Sting can play the way they have so far this year, we may see another Leaf hoisting the Memorial Cup in May.
Western Hockey League
#33 - Ian Scott (G) - 54sv, 58sh, .931sv%
Prince Albert Raiders - 6-4-3
Oct. 25th: vs Victoria Royals
W 4-3 - 20sv, 23sh, 0.870sv%
Oct. 27th: vs Brandon Wheat Kings
W 4-1 - 34sv, 35sh, .971sv%
With Scott back in the net, the Raiders have a boost of confidence and have won three in a row. It’s pretty clear that Scott is the backbone of this team. He’s played only four games this season, but he has a .924sv% and won every game he’s started.
Junior A
#24 - Ryan O'Connell (D) - 0G, 2A
Penticten Vees, BCHL - 10-3-1-1
Oct. 25th: vs Wenatchee Wild
L 3-2 2OT - No Points
Oct. 27th: vs Alberni Valley Bulldogs
W 4-2 - 0G, 2A
Ryan O'Connell breaks into the zone and finds Owen Sillinger for the goal. 2 assists for him in Penticton's 4-2 win over Alberni Valley pic.twitter.com/5ujJ6MNOS7

Oct. 28th: @ Trail Smoke Eaters
L 4-1 - No Points
The Vees are one of the top teams in the BCHL, and while they haven’t played as many games as other teams, only the Trail Smoke Eaters have a higher points percentage. O’Connell has .5PPG which is good for a defender in junior A.
NCAA
Nolan Vesey (F) - No Points
Maine Black Bears
Overall: 2-4 / Conference: 1-1
Oct. 27th: vs UMD
L 2-1 - No Points
Oct. 28th: vs UMD
L 2-0 - No Points
The Black Bears have been consistent from season to season while I’ve been watching them for these reports. They’re bad, and floundering around the bottom of the NCAA.
JD Greenway (D)
Wisconsin Badgers
Overall: 6-3 / Conference: 1-1
Oct. 27th: vs St. Lawrence
W 4-2 - Did Not Play
Oct. 28th: vs St. Lawrence
L 6-3 - Did Not Play
Greenway is still not working out with the Badgers.
Joseph Woll (G) - 48sv, 56sh, .857sv%
Boston College Eagles
Overall: 1-5-1 / Conference: 1-1
Oct. 27th: @ Providence
L 2-1 - 32sv, 34sh, .941sv%
Oct. 28th: vs Denver
L 6-1 - 16sv, 22sh, .727 sv%
The Eagles have just one win, and Woll is doing all he can to keep them in the games. Danver overpowered everyone on BC, but against Providence Woll did well keeping them to just two goals.
Dakota Joshua (F) - 0G, 1A, -1
Ohio State Buckeyes
Overall: 5-1-2 / Conference: 1-1
Oct. 27th: vs Robert Morris
W 5-3 - 0G, 1A, -2

— Future Of The Six (@FutureOfThe6) October 28, 2017
Oct. 28th: @ Robert Morris
W 3-1 - 0G, 0A, +1
Joshua is playing his way into being an essential player for the Buckeyes, and if he doesn’t get suspended this year he’ll be one of the top Leafs prospects by January.
