If there's one thing the OHL needs to work on, it's reacting to things in a timely manner. Today, February 18th, Leafs prospect Travis Dermott was suspended 5 games for a hit on Mississauga Steelheads forward Owen Tippett (2017 Draft eligible) in the February 12th Erie at Mississauga game:
Dermott received a game misconduct on the play (10 min into the first period) for checking to the head and was suspended pending a hearing. He missed the February 13th game vs Kitchener, and the February 15th game vs Guelph.
According to Victor Fernandes of the Erie Times-News Dermott should return for the February 26th game vs North Bay.
Tippet is out for at least 6 weeks according to Tony Ambrogio of TSN, which is a blow to Mississauga's playoff hopes as they are also missing 2016 draft eligable Michael McLeod for a few weeks.
