Last time we had a prospect update - before I went on vacation - I wrote about the tire fire that is the Flint Firebirds organization, and things have gone from worse to worser.
I’m not even talking about the Firebirds going winless in 14 straight games to start the season, but now they’re not even icing a full team.
Flint are dressing 9 forwards and 5 defensemen...

Bold strategy or desperation? #OHL
This is absolutely disgraceful from a team that no one thought could get worse. You would think that having the CHL commissioner’s son in charge would at least give the front office the competence to ice a full team, but I guess not.
The Toronto Maple Leafs need to rid themselves of this team and demand that Fedor Gordeev be traded. I don’t care if they don’t actually have the power, they’re the goddamn Toronto Maple Leafs and they can do whatever the hell they want.
Everyone needs to tell the Leafs to #GetGordeevOut.
On a positive note, goalie prospect Ian Scott has been named the CHL goaltender of the month for October:

So far this season Scott has posted 1.57GAA and a 0.943sv% in 14 games. He’s off to an amazing start and he’s taken the Raiders to the top of the CHL rankings.

Kral made his season debut against the Thunderbirds on Tuesday night. He had four shots on goal, but no points. It’s okay, Filip, take it slow.

Bouthillier is doing his best with all the shots his defense is giving up. The Sagueens back up didn’t get a win but faced almost 40 shots per game when he did suit up. Chicoutimi needs to work on their defense.
USHL

Oct. 28th: @ Team USA
L 8-3 - 0G, 1A
Greenway has been performing well for his age/position in the USHL, but we could be seeing more from him. As he adjusts from leaving college to going back to junior hockey, hopefully his game picks up a bit more offensively.
NCAA
#31 - Joseph Woll (G) - 32sv, 37sh, 0.865sv%

Oct. 25th: vs St. Cloud State
L 7-0 - 7sv, 11sh, 0.636sv% (32:25 played)
Not a great start for Boston College, as they are now 0-4. Judging by the last couple of games the team’s strategy is to let Woll do all the work. That won’t fly when in-conference games begin.

Ohio State is in the same boat as BC, where’s the offense guys?
The first month of the season (plus a bit of September) is now over. Are the players where you’d want them to be?
