The Toronto Maple Leafs have a handful of prospects at the Karjala Cup prospect tournament in Finland. Rodion Amirov is the most notable of them and he scored a brilliant goal for Russia in their eventual 6-2 win. He also blew past fellow Leafs prospect Axel Rindell, who was playing for Finland, on a backcheck.
WOW!

The Leafs have another Russian prospect, Dmitri Ovchinnikov (#97) playing in the MHL (Russian Jr.) and he scored the overtime winner for his team yesterday morning.

We have entered Day 4 of the US Election, and as a result have begun to combine our two favourite pastimes. Sports and Data Presenters. Here is John King cosplaying as Brandon Pridham during cap space meetings.
This is how I picture Brandon Pridham at work everyday, trying to get the Leafs extra cap space pic.twitter.com/WvHjA7Go7c

Cultural phenomenon, Gritty, also became a big topic as Philadelphia has led the swing towards making Pennsylvania a blue state.
Gritty has such a weird cultural power, I like to think he just materialized out of Jungian muppet space.

"Good job designing Gritty, Bob."
"Thanks, but that was Sarah's design."
"No, I didn't design him. I thought Jen did."
"Who's ... who's in the suit?"
"WHO'S IN THE SUIT?!" https://t.co/kraE3kd4eN

More Leafs news, apparently Dubas and co. were unhappy with the Carolina Hurricanes leaking trade conversations surrounding Frederik Andersen. Could you imagine a tandem of Andersen + James Reimer?
On the Leafs Report Chris Johnston says he thinks the Leafs front office believes that the Hurricanes are leaking their trade talks and that's what Dubas was unhappy about when he complained about the Andersen rumours that got out.

More from the Leafs Report podcast with Chris Johnston, the Leafs thought they were going to sign Michal Neuvirth for last season, putting Michael Hutchinson in the AHL. That didn’t happen and the scramble for a backup took us into January. Neuvirth signed with Sparta Praha in the Czech Republic, but never played any games, it looks like he got injured and missed the season. He is still injured now.
Mirtle says he thinks the Leafs expected Neuvirth to be their backup last year and Neuvirth just decided he didn't want to play for a low salary and went home. I don't think I've heard that before.

We got a bit of an answer regarding the end to Tony DeAngelo’s racist antics on Twitter, it looks like the New York Rangers shut him down.
I put in an interview request with the Rangers for Tony DeAngelo, to chat about what's on his mind. Not happening. As for the now-deleted @tonydee07 account and coronavirus denialism, etc. tweets, I'm told it was "handled internally."

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman we hate, but annoyingly wish we had, signed for three years.
