Goaltender Matt Onuska has signed an amateur tryout agreement and will serve as the club’s backup goaltender tonight.
Matt Onuska is a junior goalie from the OHL, most recently Windsor, and he is about to turn 21. The has two full years of junior experience and the missed season in 2020-2021. He was more of a backup than tandem partner in Windsor this year.
Joe Woll last played on April 4 in the NHL against Columbus and has not started in the AHL since then. He has a total of only 26 starts this season, less than Onuska had in the OHL.
The Leafs are also resting a large number of their forwards tonight.
