Patrick Marleau has passed Brendan Shanahan on the all time games played list, with tonight being his 1,525th career NHL game, moving him into sole possession of 15th. The Maple Leafs have played 31 games so far this season. If Marleau doesn’t miss any games for the rest of the year he will get to 1,576 games, getting him past Shane Doan, Johnny Bucyk, Alex Delvecchio, Jarome Iginla, and Nicklas Lidstrom for 11th place. 10th place is Ray Bourque, and he as 1,612 games played, so goals for next season.
Marleau also scored his 1,100th career point, giving him sole possession of 60th on the all time NHL scoring list, breaking away from former Leaf Glenn Anderson who is now 61st. Marleau is on pace for 45 points, ad if he achieves that he will pass former Maple Leaf Frank Mahovlich for 59th place, and sit five points behind another Leafs legend, Darryl Sittler.
