So I was busy doing really important stuff last night - mostly playing Civilization on my laptop and watching season 1 of the X-Files - so I was following along with the Leafs game via notifications on my phone.
Once the Leafs were up 2-0 I knew it would be an overtime loss, so I shut them off and kept kicking ass and taking names while Mulder and Scully hunted Victor Tooms.
If the outcome of Leafs games are going to be so predictable, why don’t we as Maple Leafs fans gather and do something about it? The largest fanbase in hockey should gather our buying power together into a Voltron style power-bot and demand the NHL make games 40 minutes long. Why play the third period when we know it’s just going to be heartbreak? If the Leafs are bad at third periods, let’s do away with them. Easy Peasy.
If you missed the game because you died of old age during the pre-game ceremony you can check out the game in six below:

Hockey honors Willie O’Ree for becoming NHL’s first black player 60 years ago - The Colour of Hockey
O’Ree didn’t realize the gravity of that January 18, 1958 talk until after the Bruins blanked the Habs 3-0. O’Ree didn’t register a point on the stat sheet that night, but he made a mark in history as the National Hockey League’s first black player.
