With the two championship rounds starting at the same time, there have been people complaining about ‘bandwagoners’ and ‘fake fans’.
Look, I know how it feels to have others skip out on the bad times. We all do, we’re fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
When your team makes a championship run, you know in your circle of friends, family, social media feeds have been ignoring the team in the seasons leading up to those moments and who hasn’t been watching until the playoffs. Yeah, you may feel like something you’ve held close to your heart is being pulled away by people who don’t get it; who don’t know how it’s felt to have your heart ripped out and stomped on by the team.
But isn’t it great to have a crowd behind you? To have multiple city blocks shut down due to a celebration? Sold out arenas and tens of thousands of people cheering in sync, and boosting your teams name and logo throughout the world?
I know I would want everyone to see the light and be wearing blue and white and cheering for the Maple Leafs. So in the Stanley Cup Finals let’s all become fans of the St. Louis Blues because no one should want the Boston Bruins to win. Let’s climb on the blue and yellow bandwagon and root against the Bruins. Slap on a purple dinosaur and cheer as the hoops are shooted.
We have nothing but bandwagons to enjoy for the next few weeks, so let’s have fun.
And now, the news.
Speaking of bandwagons.
This is obviously a couple of days old...but I'm not sure how much play it got...if any. A buddy who attended game 6 sent this to me...
