We are counting down to puck drop here, as the Toronto Maple Leafs face off against the Vancouver Canucks one last time in the 2021 NHL season. And what a ride it has been.
Game One: Toronto Maple Leafs 7 - Vancouver Canucks 3
Jason Spezza scored a hat trick, Auston Matthews had two, and the Leafs easily beat the Canucks in their first meeting.
Game two: Toronto Maple Leafs 5 - Vancouver Canucks 1
Matthews and Wayne Simmonds each had two goals in another rout of the Canucks.
Game three: Toronto Maple Leafs 3 - Vancouver Canucks 1
Kerfoot, Matthews, and Rielly all teamed up to beat the Canucks to sweep the series in February.
Game four: Vancouver Canucks 3 - Toronto Maple Leafs 1
The Leafs first trip to Vancouver didn’t go as well as the homestand. Pierre Engvall was the only Leaf to score.
Game five: Vancouver Canucks 4 - Toronto Maple Leafs 2
John Tavares and Jimmy Vesey tried their best to keep the Leafs ahead but the Canucks came back to take the series.
Game six: Vancouver Canucks 3 - Toronto Maple Leafs 2 OT
After sitting for weeks due to an outbreak of COVID-19 the Canucks returned to play and pushed the Leafs around, winning the game in overtime thanks to a Bo Horvat goal.
Game seven: Vancouver Canucks 6 - Toronto Maple Leafs 3
Oh man, let’s just skip this one.
Game eight: Toronto Maple Leafs 4 - Vancouver Canucks 1
This was a great game. The big 3 scored, and what a lot of fun.
Now hopefully we end things on a high note.
