Lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft last summer, Leipsic was a top prospect for the Maple Leafs after coming over from the Nashville Predators with Olli Jokinen for Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli. After posting two 50+ point seasons with the Marlies, Leipsic was left unprotected and is now playing on the Knights NHL roster.

Dmitri Yakushin (1999-2000)
Yakushin played just two games for the Maple Leafs, at the end of the 99/00 season and spent the majority of his time in the organization with the St. John’s Maple Leafs. He’d leave North America in 2003 and play across Europe until he retired in 2013.

#48 - Jeremy Williams (20005-2008)

Awards: N/A
Williams’ best season with the Maple Leafs was the year he wore #18. He spent most of this time with the Marlies/St. John’s, which is the theme with this number. Williams is currently with his second season on the Straubing Tigers of the DEL (Germany).

Andrew Campbell (2015-2016)
Captain of the Toronto Marlies the past two seasons, Campbell was called up for six games in 15/16 where he scored a single assist. He would return to Arizona over the summer and is currently the captain of the Tuscon Roadrunners.
Ryan Hamilton (2013)
Hamilton was a staple on the Toronto Marlies for five years, captaining them from 2011-2013. When his contract was ending the Maple Leafs called him up at the end of the 2013 season to get him some NHL games before releasing him. He’s currently with the Bakersfield Condors where he’s been captain the past three seasons.

#47 - Leo Komarov (2013-Present)
Stats: 269GP - 47G - 61A - 108Pts - 115PM

Uncle Leo is part of the fantastic Maple Leafs 2006 draft class, and the only one still with the team. He took six years to join the Leafs, but once he did he established himself as a fan favourite, and endeared himself to the team. Leaving for one season to get the contract he wanted, Komarov loved the Maple Leafs so much that his KHL team had to make a rule to prevent him from wearing Maple Leafs gear during training. His contact is up this year, and many want to see him not return at his current price. Will his love of Toronto trump the money? We’ll see.

Darryl Boyce (2011-2012)
Boyce is making his second appearance on the list, and spent 1.5 seasons in Toronto wearing #47. He would be claimed on waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets midway through the 11/12 season. Best known for almost getting his nose cut off. He’s currently captain for Düsseldorfer EG of the DEL.

#46 - Roman Polak (2015-Present)
Stats: 191GP - 10G - 24A - 34Pts - 173PM

I’m sorry to most of you who don’t want to see this, but here is Roman Polak appearing as the best Maple Leaf at something. Polak joined the Maple Leafs in a trade with the St. Louis Blues, sending Carl Gunnarson the other way (For some reason I remember where I was when I saw the news: a Taco Bell parking lot). Polak has been on the Maple Leafs blueline ever since, and making Leafs fans made about it. He had a devastating injury in last years playoffs but made a return to the blue and white a few weeks into the season.
Other 46:
David Broll (2013-2014)
A late 2011 draft pick, the Brolldozer was a hard hitting player in juniors who was exaclty what that sounds like when translated to the pros. He was traded for half a 7th round pick (Carter Ashton got the Leafs the other half) from the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015. He played five Leafs games, and now plays for the Laval Rocket.
Tobias Lindberg (2015-2016)
Lindberg came to the Leafs in the Dion Phaneuf trade, but didn’t earn his way into the NHL with his mediocre AHL play. He was an injury replacement for six game for the Leafs and early this season was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights with a 2018 6th round pick for Calvin Pickard.
Ben Ondrus (2005-2006)
Ondrus was a free agent after his time in the WHL was over and spent seven season in the Maple Leafs system, captaining the Marlies for three years. Over those seven season he made his way into 52 NHL games. He last played one game for the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs as they tried for the Allen Cup.

#45 - Jonathan Bernier (2013-2016)
Stats: 151GP - .915sv% - 2.36GAA - 6SO
Awards: N/A
Jonathan Bernier was brought over from the Los Angeles Kings after the Maple Leafs lost to the Boston Bruins in the 2013 playoffs. It appeared that management didn’t trust James Reimer to be the goalie for the future, so Bernier came over and tried to take the starters position, but could never quite establish a foothold. He was an average goalie at best who declined as his time in Toronto went on. Bernier would be traded to the Anaheim Ducks in the 2016 off-season in part one of the Frederik Andersen trade.
Other 45’s:
Carlo Colaiacovo (2002-2006)
Caro played over 100 games for the Maple Leafs, but only played 11 while wearing #45. The victim of bone-itis, he never played more than 48 games for the Leafs in a single season. He was one half of the awful Colaiacovo/Steen trade to the Blues for Lee Stempniak.
Mark Fraser (2013)
Fraser was brought in for grit and the ability to take a puck to the head. Then he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers for the rights to Teemu Hartikainen and Cam Abney. Neither would join the Leafs.
Marcel Mueller (2010-2011)
With the Maple Leafs for two seasons, spent mostly with the Toronto Marlies, Mueller played two NHL games then went back to Germany. He’s currently playing with the Krefeld Pinguine of the DEL. Wow, lots of these players have gone on to DEL careers.
Zdenek Nedved (1995)
A 5th round draft pick by the Maple Leafs in 1993, Nedved played just one game as #45. He maxed out at 31 NHL games, all with Toronto, and then went back to Europe after 3 years in the AHL. He last played for Merano in Italy division 2.
