Frederik Andersen will not return tonight, out with an upper-body injury

After a wild first period that saw the Toronto Maple Leafs get down 2-1 in Buffalo to the Sabres, Frederik Andersen failed to return to the game with an unspecified upper body injury.
When details appear—when Andersen writes his autobiography in thirty years, in other words—we’ll let you know what they are.
The Leafs are currently holding the third place in the Atlantic and have no other genuinely NHL-capable goaltender in their system.
Hmmm. This is timed for not quite the last minutes of the third period.
Freddie Andersen was seen leaving KeyBank Center about 10 minutes ago in his suit.

So good news or bad?
Mike Babcock says the #sabres doctor thought Andersen should come out of the game.

Babcock says they’ll know better tomorrow what is up with Andersen. Doctors said it was best he came out.

McElhinney said he knew after the first ended something was up with Andersen. Trainers clued him in.

So what does that add up to? It seems like we won’t get an update until Monday now. The Leafs next game is Tuesday at home to the Panthers.
Speculation is running rampant that this is in some way related to concussion protocol. That seems plausible, but without confirmation of that, it would be wrong to assume that.
