After a long three-day break, and a messy loss to the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, the Leafs are back and facing the Philadelphia Flyers on the road. The Flyers themselves are returning to Philly on the second half of a back-to-back, after beating the New Jersey Devils last night, winning 4-3 in the shootout.

The Leafs will be squaring off with the Flyers tonight without Muzzin, who took a hard hit from Tom Wilson in Tuesday’s loss to the Washington Capitals. While he was at practice on Friday in a red, no-contact jersey, it is personal reasons, not his injury, that will keep him from playing. In the meantime, Marincin will be stepping in to play with Barrie, with the defense pairings otherwise not changing. After sitting out four practices earlier this week, Rielly also practiced with the team yesterday, and should play tonight.
John Tavares joined the Leafs for practice on October 30th, his first since breaking his finger earlier in the month – and making all of us really, really excited. However, Babcock told reporters this morning that he will not be back in for tonight’s game, leaving the forward lines unchanged from the previous game.
After losing their last two games, and struggling with a packed October schedule, the Leafs will want to start November with a strong game – something that both Babcock and Auston Matthews touched on when talking to media yesterday.
