Our game preview with lineups is here
It’s the classic mid-week game vs. a Florida team, which in the past has always been a mixture of utter boredom and heart breaking losses. But these are the New Leafs(TM), the team that has been on a roll the last couple of years in these types of games. We all remember the coming out party for Mitch Marner last year, although Roberto Luongo will be in net this time — not James Reimer.

There were a couple of trades today, one involving the Leafs (sort of), and one hilarious signing.

As for the signing, the long-rumoured extension for Vancouver’s Gudbranson was finally completed. Turns out he got the Kris Russell contract.

In other trade speculation, TSN’s Insider Trading segment shared a rumour of 5-6 teams in talks with the New York Rangers for Rick Nash. No word on if the Leafs are one of them.
On TSN's Insider Trading tonight, @PierreVLeBrun named the Blue Jackets among the 5-6 teams "with varying degrees of interest" in acquiring Rick Nash. #CBJ

Why do you think the Leafs are clearing SPC space?
For a Karlsson & Ryan blockbuster | 43 |
For a Glendening heartbuster | 33 |
For a Rick Nash deal | 9 |
To further isolate Josh Leivo as the only player under contract not ever playing for anyone | 69 |
