The Leafs are heading out for the Big D tonight. It’s really big and sprawled out and waiting for them. The City of Dallas, that is.
What? What did you think I was talking about you sickos?
The Maple Leafs are playing the Stars tonight in Dallas. It’s their first late Toronto-time game of this season. Puck drop isn’t until 8:30 p.m., so take a nap when you get home from work and be ready to stay up late.
Tonight we get to see some old friends in both Connor Carrick and Roman Polak, both of whom wound up on the Stars after several years inside the Leafs organization.
Carrick never found a spot to play on the Leafs roster because the team simply had too many players available at his defence position. He will be missed by press people for his eloquence and patience post-game where he was enthusiastic about answering any and all questions in great detail.
Polak was bad, though in hindsight not as bad as we remember from those times we rage-quit watching games after one of his blunders.
Either way, both are playing tonight, and are actually playing together on the same line. Both have an incentive to show up their old team, but we will have to wait up late to see if they can do that.
And now I present to you the greatest ever remix of the Dallas TV show theme of all time.
