This year the Toronto Maple Leafs have held three different camps. Development Camp from July 4th-9th, Rookie Camp was held in September, and the full training camp followed that.
One part to these camps that helps teams out for the present and future is the chance to look at players who haven’t been drafted yet, and see if they’ll fit into your teams plans.
Below I’ll pick out the undrafted players the Toronto Maple Leafs invited to these camps, and give a quick look at ‘em from this past season.
Away we go:
Development Camp
Stephen Baylis - LW
Shoots Left - 6’1” - 201lbs
Playing: Bowling Green University (WCHA-NCAA)
Stats: 40GP - 3G - 11A - 14Pts
Baylis is playing his sophomore year at Bowling Green University, and with 13 points he finished 11th in team scoring, the highest scoring sophomore on the team. BG made it all the way to the WCHA finals before falling to Michigan Tech in double overtime. Baylis is still NCAA eligible and odds are he’ll return for another year.
Shane Conacher - RW
Shoots right - 5’11” - 174lbs
Playing: Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) / Toronto Marlies (AHL)
ECHL Stats: 25GP - 2G - 9A - 11Pts
AHL Stats: 3GP - 0G - 0A - 0Pts
After leaving Canisius College at the end of last season, Conacher joined the Marlies for 7 games, scoring 2 goals, 1 assist for 3 points.
This year Conacher is in the Leafs system, joining the Solar Bears in January after recovering from injury. He was called up for a series versus the Syracuse Crunch, where he got to play against his brother Cory.
Tye Felhaber - LW/C
Shoots left - 5’11” - 190lbs
Playing: Ottawa 67’s (OHL)
Stats: 48GP - 17G - 14A - 31Pts
Felbaher started the season with the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit, but was traded at the OHL trade deadline closer to home and joined the Ottawa 67’s. The 67’s failed to make it past the first round of the OHL playoffs, so Felhaber has a longer off season. He can return to the OHL next year.
Alan Lyszczarczyk - C
Shoots left - 6’0” - 183lbs
Playing: Sudbury Wolves (OHL)
Stats: 61GP - 10G - 22A - 32Pts
In his second year in the OHL Lyszczarczyk’s points dropped by almost half, and added just two points (1G, 1A) to the Wolves first round playoff exit against the Oshawa Generals. Alan can return to the OHL next season.
Mason Marchment - LW
Shoots left - 6’4” - 201lbs
Playing: Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) / Toronto Marlies (AHL)
ECHL Stats: 35GP - 14G - 6A - 20Pts
AHL Stats: 9GP - 1G - 0A - 1Pt
Splitting time between the Marlies and Solar Bears this year, Marchment has four points in five playoff games with Orlando so far.
Trevor Moore - C/LW
Shoots left - 5’10” - 174lbs
Playing: Toronto Marlies (AHL)
Stats: 57GP - 13G - 20A - 33Pts
In his first pro season, Moore did well coming out of college. He’ll need to step up next season and make a bigger impact if he wants to stick around.
Brandon Saigeon - C
Shoots: left - 6’2” - 201lbs
Playing: Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL)
Stats: 66GP - 21G - 28A - 49Pts
In year three of the OHL Saigeon did well, but was almost shut out of the Bulldogs first playoff run, adding just one assist as Hamilton lost to Kingston in seven games.
Chase Witala - C/LW
Shoots: left - 6’0” - 174lbs
Playing: Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL)
Stats: 46GP - 7G - 12A - 19Pts
Spending the year in Orlando, Witala had a good first season as a pro. He’ll be looking for another shot at the various Leafs camps this fall. Witala did nab a couple games for the Marlies this year as well.
Tyler Wong - RW
Shoots: right - 5’9” - 176lbs
Playing: Lethbridge Hurricanes (WHL)
Stats: 69GP - 51G - 58A - 109Pts
Wong has been a star for the Hurricanes this year. 109 points put him at the top of the roster by 20 points. He has 22 points in 16 playoff games so far and will try to help the Hurricanes upset the Adam Brooks & Regina Pats in the WHL Eastern Conference Final.

Nikolas Brouillard - D
Shoots: left - 5’10” - 150lbs
Playing: Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) / Toronto Marlies (AHL)
ECHL Stats: 39GP - 7G - 14A - 21Pts
AHL Stats: 1GP - 0G - 0A - 0Pts
After going to the Memorial Cup final and colming within one goal of winning it all, Brouillard spent the year in Orlando with a glance in the AHL.

Jon Jutzi - D
Shoots: left - 6’3” - 203lbs
Playing: Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL)
Stats: 45GP - 2G - 12A - 14Pts
Jutzi graduated from the NCAA and went right to Orlando. On the blue line he’s been steady but never saw anytime in Toronto.
Nikita Lisov - D
Shoots: right - 6’1” - 201lbs
Playing: Avangard Omsk (KHL)
Stats: 24GP - 1G - 1A - 2Pts
Lisov was wit the development camp roster, but didn’t come back for any others. He was less than stellar on the score sheet this year., but was good enough in his own end to be brought back for next season.
Jordan Murray - D
Shoots: left - 6’1” - 170lbs
Playing: University of New Brunsiwck (U Sports) / Binghamton Senators (AHL)
US Stats: 30GP - 14G - 26A - 40Pts
AHL Stats: 5GP - 1G - 1A - 2Pts
Jordan Murray finished off his time at UNB (winning two U Sports defender of the year awards in the process) and then signed an ATO with the Ottawa Senators farm team in Binghamton.
Ty Stanton - D
Shoots: left - 6’4” - 187lbs
Playing: Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) / Toronto Marlies (AHL)
ECHL Stats: 26GP - 0G - 6A - 6Pts
AHL Stats: 3GP - 0G - 0A - 0Pts
Joining the Marlies on an ATO last season, Stanton made enough of an impression to sign to an AHL/ECHL deal and spent the majority of the season in Orlando, with a cup of coffee on the ice in Toronto.
Anthony Brodeur - G
Catches: left - 5’10” - 194lbs
Playing: University of Ottawa (U Sports)
Stats: 12GP - 2.63GAA - .910sv%
Son of the legendary St. Louis Blues goalie Martin Brodeur, Anthony was drafted by the New Jersey Devils, but was never signed. He spent some time in Leafs camps, but ultimately decided to head to the University of Ottawa and do some book learning while he tends goal.
Chris Nell - G
Catches: left - 6’1” - 183lbs
Playing: Bowling Green University (WCHA-NCAA) / Hartford Wolfpack (AHL)
NCAA Stats: 34GP - 2.15GAA - .916sv%
AHL Stats: 4GP - 4.02GAA - 0881sv%
Nell played all three years at Bowling Green before the NHL came calling. No, it wasn’t the Maple Leafs, it was the New York Rangers. After an NCAA career record of a 41-29-10, 2.07 GAA, .922 SV%, and 11 SO, the Rangers saw him as part of their future. After the NCAA season ended Nell joined the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Rookie Camp
Cason Hohmann - RW
Shoots: right - 5’9” - 174lbs
Playing: Indy Fuel (ECHL)
Stats: 32GP - 11G - 13A - 24Pts
Hohman was originally thought to be joining the Marlies, but instead signed a PTO with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. That laste donly two games, and Hohmann found himself bouncing around the ECHL, racking up 32 games with Orlando, Indianapolis, and Atlanta this year.
Maple Leafs Camp
Daniel Maggio - RW
Shoots: right - 6’2” - 192lbs
Playing: Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) / Toronto Marlies (AHL)
ECHL Stats: 33GP - 3G - 6A - 9Pts
AHL Stats: 4GP - 1G - 1A - 2Pts
Maggio, whose biggest news story in google is knocking Brian McGratton unconscious last season, spent most of the year in Orlando, not really contributing to the score sheet.
Brandon Prust - LW/RW
Shoots: left - 6’0” - 194lbs
Playing: Nürnberg Ice Tigers (DEL)
Stats: 29GP - 3G - 5A - 8Pts
Husband of ‘Hockey Wives’ star Maripier Morin, Brandon Prust was at the entire Maple Leafs training camp, and was then hanging around for a few weeks as a ‘special advisor’ but never made the roster. Big things were expected from Prust in Germany, but the points didn’t come.
Ethan Werek - C/LW
Shoots: left - 6’1” - 190lbs
Playing: Texas Stars (AHL)
Stats: 55GP - 13G - 14A - 31Pts
Werek was assigned to Orlando after Marlies camp, but got a PTO with Texas and ended up spending the whole season with the Dallas affiliate.
William Corrin - D
Shoots: left - 6’1” - 205lbs
Playing: Brampton Beast (ECHL)
Stats: 40GP - 10G - 16A - 26Pts
After not sticking with the Marlies (4GP, no points) early in the year, Willie Corrin was sent to the Canadiens ECHL affiliate just north of Toronto in Brampton. The Beast are currently in the second round of the ECHL playoffs facing off against the Manchester Monarchs.
Raman Hrabarenka - D
Shoots: right - 6’4”- 229lbs
Playing: Dinamo Minsk (KHL)
Stats: 16GP - 2G - 6A - 8Pts
Hrabarenka was brought in to camp on a PTO, but didn't stick so he went to the KHL and suited up for 16 regular season games and one playoff game.
Jeff Glass - G
Catches: left - 6’2” - 212lbs
Playing: Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
Stats: 20GP - 2.63GAA - .914sv%
Probably the most successful of this bunch, Jeff Glass was brought to the Leafs on a PTO, and was signed to a Marlies deal after camp. He hung around long enough to get a two year contract from the Chicago Blackhawks and will most likely play in Rockford next season.

As the seasons end, there’s always more players sneaking into the ATO’s around the AHL, (Hi Jordan Papirny!) and I’m sure teams are waiting for the Lethbridge Hurricanes to finish their season so they can woo Tyler Wong and his hundred point season to their team.
