It’s Hockey Night in Canada Saturday. There is no Stanley Cup Final game tonight. Does it matter though? Many big names in the media have declared the Final as ‘boring’. The narratives usually revolve around the fact ‘no one’ likes Sidney Crosby anymore, and Nashville’s play is ‘weird’ and ‘uninteresting’.
I personally have found the games to be enjoyable. There are times where bad Pekka Rinne shows up and then it’s a bit dry by the third period, but, overall, I am not hearing much about what is missing from the games, only some mystical and non-quantifiable ‘good hockey’.
What do you think?
Is the hockey bad this year?
