This morning the NHL announced the schedule for the first round of the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs. The Toronto Maple Leafs will be facing the Boston Bruins in round one and we have the schedule here for you to plan your next two weeks around.
Game one: Thursday April 11th, 7:00 p.m.
Game one is a Thursday, which is pretty traditional, to give the teams Friday off and put game two on a Saturday night. There’s a concert at the Toronto-Dominion Garden the night before, so we’ll have to watch the ice conditions.
Game two: Saturday April 13th, 8:00 p.m.
How can you have the first Hockey Night in Canada of the playoffs and not put the Maple Leafs on? There’s no way Rogers would let the NHL get away with skipping them for the premier broadcast.
Game three: Monday April 15th, 7:00 p.m.
The first home game of the playoffs is a Monday night in Toronto. Nothing to chase away the work week blues like a playoff game.
Game four: Wednesday April 17th, 7:00 p.m.
No extra days off, just keep playing every other day.
Game five: Friday April 19th, time to be determined.
No HNIC game!
Game six: Sunday April 21st, time to be determined.
We have two days off since Cher has a concert at the SBA on Monday night.
Game seven: Tuesday April 23rd, time to be determined.
The possible (probable?) series finale will take pace more than two weeks from today in Boston.
Alright folks, we have five days to work ourselves up into a tizzy while we wait for game one to start.
