While the Canadian Women’s Hockey League has not yet released the 2017-18 regular season schedule, teams are preparing for the new season with training camps and pre-season games.
The Toronto Furies and the Markham Thunder will both play three pre-season games, including a home-and-home series in late September and a game each against the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Ridgebacks.

UPDATE Ticket price has changed somewhat for the game at MCC - they are no longer asking for canned donations, price is $5.00 with half going to the food bank. They’re also asking people to RSVP via Facebook:

UPDATE [September 11] Thunder are now asking for food, used hockey equipment or a monetary donation to the Grindstone Award Foundation for entrance to the September 23 game.
This is a great, cheap way to get a first look at the newly-drafted rookies and to see what tricks new coaches Jeff Flanagan (Furies) and Jim Jackson (Thunder) have in store.

According to GM Chelsea Purcell, the Thunder also have some other community events in store this fall.

October 1: Fast & Female Champ Chat. A 3 hour event about empowering girls through sport. As a bonus the team will have open ice after where the girls will be able to skate with the team.
Other games
Although not all CWHL teams have announced pre-season games, the Canadiennes have four games scheduled (Université de Montréal Carabins (2), McGill Martlets and Concordia Stingers). Kunlun Red Star and Vanke Rays will play a series against the UBC Thunderbirds and Vanke Rays will also play the Cornell Big Red. The Inferno has announced their training camp and tryouts will take place September 29 - Oct 1.
Based on the available exhibition dates, the earliest the 2017-18 CWHL season will start is Saturday October 21.
