Last week, it had seemed as though the NHL and NHLPA had sorted out the majority of the financial logistics and were on their way to agreeing on everything that needed to be agreed upon to have a partial NHL season. We’re getting some more updates on that, though they are delightfully vague.
NHL/NHLPA went non-stop all weekend and continue Monday going back and forth on season protocols, transition rules, critical dates. The hope is to have it wrapped up over the next few days to set up a vote on each side by end of week. But as we saw in June, these things can drag

So, basically, things might happen soon. Or they might not. Negotiations! In the meantime, we can do what we do whenever there isn’t hockey. Fights over which Maple Leafs prospects career will top out in the AHL is going to be more impressive.
