This time it's not a questionable movie but an all-time great: Groundhog Day. The Leafs make the same mistakes over and over again except it's not the same game every night. Maybe that's the problem? They don't know that. The opener came when the high man, Mike Fisher, wasn't picked up. The second goal came on a brutal effort of fronting by Luke Schenn and Carl Gunnarson. The third goal against came when Rickard Wallin failed to pick up Mike Fisher.
Then there was the now expected average goaltender being made to look amazing. Tonight's role was played by Pascal Leclaire who made some good saves, was made to look great on others, and was lucky on a few. The other sore point, and in no way responsible for the Leafs' failure to score, was some pretty questionable refereeing. They seemed to want to return to the old system and on a night when the Leafs were the ones moving their feet the most it was painfully evident.
Now it's your turn. What did you think? One good thing per bad thing please.
