Ok so I'll keep this bout of shameless self promotion brief.
The Big Ice #2 is taking place this Thursday night at 7 PM at 918 Bathurst (just north of Bloor across from Bathurst Station).
Billed as "Your New Arena For Quality Hockey Conversations" - basically like TED Talks about hockey. The creator is Kevin Kennedy, the host of Pitch Talks, which launched this past season. Feel free to view the clip of The Big Ice #1 - featuring Elliotte Friedman, Jeff Marek, Bryan Hayes, Ken Reid, and Jeremy Taggart below.
The program for Thursday evening will be hosted by Matt Brown of the Fan590 (Leafs reporter who also produces the Marek vs. Wyshynski podcast). Speakers include:
- yours truly presenting on Analyzing Context In Hockey;
- Dan Robson a senior writer with Sportsnet Magazine having a chat about madness and hockey;
- Panel discussion featuring Chris Johnston and Christine Simpson of Sportsnet and noted friend of this blog, James Mirtle, of the Globe and Mail and TSN Analytics./
Tickets available here (cost $15 - but if you enter Burtch as a promo code you only have to pay $10). Doors open at 6:30 pm. Hope to see you there.
