Today marks the start of the Leafs training camp. When it ends, 63 players will have been cut down to 23. I figure this is how the end of camp will go:
Burke: Good practice, kids. Now it's time for the easiest part of any GM's job. The cuts. Although I wasn't able to cut everyone I wanted to, I have cut a lot of you. Blacker is cut. Ryan is cut. Irwin you're gone. Kadri, I like your hustle
[Kadri smiles]
Burke: That's why it was so hard to cut you
[Kadri's smile drops]
Burke: Congratulations, the rest of you made it on the team!
[random sighs of relief]
Burke: Except you, you and you
[Jeff Finger sulks away]
