Steven Stamkos is a pretty popular guy, mostly because he's really, really good at hockey. The Tampa Bay Lightning's captain is an upcoming unrestricted free agent, though - which helps make him even more popular, because that means all 30 teams in the NHL all have a shot at him, rather than just one.
And what's that? He's from Markham, you say? Well, like any good Ontario boy, you know he wants to come back to play for his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs - as the speculation has been running rampant for quite some time now. And will probably run either until he's retired... or until he finally, seemingly inevitably, goes back to Toronto.
Stamkos, for his part, just seems to really, really like fanning those flames. Case in point, he's liked exactly one post on Twitter, and it goes like this (screencapped for insurance purposes):
