Dallas’ Mason Marchment has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for interference on Toronto’s Jake McCabe.

In last Wednesday's game against the Dallas Stars, Jake McCabe and former Leafs/Marlies player Mason Marchment had a feud that spanned most of the game.

Player Safety disagrees. Fines should not be confused with salary forfeited as part of a suspensions. Fines are calculated on a % of the player's salary, but as per the CBA negotiated between the league and the players, they are capped at $5,000. No one can just decide to make them larger.
This hit was very obviously late and that is indeed interference.
