So when I got home from work yesterday, I accidentally overheard about 5 minutes of prattle from the Team 1040 about how the Toronto media apparently hate the Canucks. I was going to write a huge post about how pathetic they are, etc. etc. but then, I checked my e-mail and found the above.
Score one for me.
Here's your morning links.
- TwinkieGate: Sweetest manufactured controversy of NHL playoffs
I'm probably going to be making Twinkie jokes a lot. So read this to find out why. - City celebrates Canucks Day in Vancouver
As my husband said when I told him about this: "How about they wait until they win the Stanley Cup to have Canucks Day?" - Shannon on NHL: In no particular order
I haven't seen this before - John Shannon takes a look at a few points about the NHL, including viewership numbers. Man, the Leafs are a powerhouse in that area. - Where have checking from behind calls gone?
Mirtle looks at the crackdown on dangerous hits which hasn't extended to shoves from behind given the latest incidents. - Vancouver's first-round MVP
Elliotte Friedman has a dubious choice for the Canucks' MVP, IMHO. But the rest of his 30 points are interesting (and includes why the Leafs drafted Luke Schenn over Tyler (Vezina winner!) Myers). - Coaching candidates for four open NHL jobs
Mirtle takes a look at some names he's heard thrown out there for who could be up for one of the available NHL coaching positions. - Grading the Maple Leafs Season, Player by Player
TML Fan Fury went through the entire Leafs' roster from this past season and gave each of them a grade. Not sure that I agree with a lot of them. - Top Saves of the First Round - TSN Style
I am confident that next year, when TSN releases this highlight pack, Gustavsson will be on it. - Krecji leads Bruins past Sabres 4-3 in Game 6 and into second round
Alas, my wish for a meteor to end this series didn't happen. But, I guess that's a good thing, as the one Bruins' fan we're allowed, Cornelius Hardenburgh, was in attendance at this game and it would suck to have to find another Bruins fan to hang out with that is half as cool as he is. - Burke’s Focus Now Shifts to Tweaking Roster
MLHS takes another look at a list of Vets that might be useful to the Leafs. If we sign Taylor Pyatt, bam, automatic best looking roster in the NHL. Sadly, despite his pretty eyes, he's just not that good. - Heroic Halak talks about 53-save effort
The only thing that makes me happy about the horribleness of the Habs forcing game 7 is the fact that they will now probably trade Halak and his great goaltending to go with pouty, petulant Price. - Vintage Leafs: Beware, may cause nightmares
Vintage Leafs has an interesting collection of new pictures today.
