Tonight is the Indigenous Heritage unity game:
The Sceptres have been off for a few days while some other teams have been playing, so the games played is a little out of alignment. Both the Sceptres and the Sirens have seven games left (counting this one). Remember, the PWHL breaks for the World Championships in early April so they play a few now and then a few after that break before the playoffs.
Toronto is currently third by Points % with 0.522 and New York remains in last place with 0.391. They are five points out of a playoff position, which doesn't seem like all that much in a three point league, but it would require a lot to go right for New York and a lot to go wrong for Ottawa and Minnesota or Toronto for them to make it.
Looking up the standings from Toronto's POV, They have one extra game in hand to use to try to make up the four points Boston is ahead of them. Montréal has first place, as far as I'm concerned. It would be very unlikely for them to fall off the top of the standings.
News
New York has signed former Sceptres defender Olivia Knowles to a 10-day SPA.
The PWHL has now surpassed 1 milliion in attendance.
At the trade deadline last week, the Sceptres acquired defender Anna Kjellbin from Montrél for forward Kaitlin Willoughby. Kjellbin, 31, is in her first PWHL season on a one-year contract. She has previously played for Luleå in the SDHL and Team Sweden. She was their captain last year.
