Toronto laid down a statement win against New York in their last game, winning 4-1. The win put them third by Points % with .509 and 29 points in 19 games. That's the same stat line Minnesota has, although Toronto has one more regulation win. The Frost blanked league-leaders Montréal 4-0 in the Victoire's rink in their last game.
Both teams are trying to gain points faster than Montréal to close the gap on their 34 points in only 17 games.
The Sceptres have gone from the bottom of the pack and serious questions about making the playoffs to a team that wants to topple the Victoire. Three point games in a tight league make for quick changes in status.
Toronto has only beaten Minnesota once this year – in overtime, so a regulation win today would be a huge statement win. Natalie Spooner should play. And this is Minnesota's Black History Month game.
Mosaic Hockey Collective – an organization committed to increasing representation in hockey - will be featured throughout the Unity Game and recognized for their impact in fostering an inclusive hockey community for players of color. Akua Tieku will represent Mosaic for a ceremonial puck drop, and players from the Collective will participate in an on-ice shootout during the first intermission and enjoy Zamboni and Fanboni rides. The Frost will also recognize the newly crowned Minnesota Girls High School Hockey State Champions and the winners of the Ms. Hockey Award and the Jori Jones Award honoring the best high school player and goaltender in the state.

The Minnesota Frost have activated defender Natalie Buchbinder from long-term injured reserve
