Ottawa's last game was on December 29 on the road in New York. The Charge won by a score of 3-1, and the have a Points % of 0.389.
Toronto's last game was at home to Boston on December 27, and they won by a score of 4-2. Their Points % is also 0.389.
These two teams are tied and doing much poorly than they would like, so it's not a surprise they thought about a trade. It might be surprising they did it with each other right before a game, but the biggest surprise is that Toronto traded their first ever drafted players, the 2024 second overall Jocelyne Larocque.
TRADE: The Ottawa Charge and the Toronto Sceptres have completed the first trade of the 2024-25 season.

Ottawa acquires forward Victoria Bach and defender Jocelyne Larocque from Toronto, in exchange for defender Savannah Harmon and forward Hayley Scamurra.

Both Hayley Scamurra and Savannah Harmon are pointless in six games for Ottawa, but Scamurra, a regular on Team USA, is known as a defensive player who has been a centre. Harmon was the Charge's first ever draftee, making this a trade of like for like in terms of wow factor and position, as she was a top pairing D on the Charge. Also a Team USA member, she is only 29, and Larocque is 36.
Toronto got younger on defence, got a good middle-six 2-way forward, and the days of saying they're just Team Canada are long over.
This looks like a win for the Sceptres, but time will tell.

Goals from the new players! We can hope, right?
