This post serves as a testament to the hard work of James Mirtle since he has taken the reins of the hockey sites in the SBN megaverse. When he came on board early this season I think there were 5 sites up and running and two more in development. Last playoffs I think only 2 sites were involved. One year on all 30 teams are covered (Oilers and Blue Jackets are on the way) and there are 15 ready for the playoffs (CBJ = TBA). Apparently you can get quite a lot done when you aren't accusing the Leafs' of tanking or tracking down Mikhail Grabovski's alleged ties to crime syndicates.
Just like last year I'll be following the Washington Capitals and despite doing a terrible job of rigging the poll Chemmy will transform himself into a BJs Super Fan (all anecdotal evidence that he should hate them aside). You'll notice that the poll took a huge surge towards St. Louis. Our friends at St. Louis Game Time have shown some admiration for the PPP community and have extended a warm welcome to our kindred site. It's like the American version of this site so head on over if you are so inclined.
Actually, I'd recommend all of these sites as great places to keep up with whatever team you decide to support during the playoffs. Keep in mind that every community has its own guidelines and codes of conduct so some things that fly over here might not be kosher.
Without further ado here are the first round match-ups and the SBN sites that will be covering them. SBN is also going to launch a Playoff Hub similar to the one they had at the trade deadline. When that goes live I'll post the link.
