Happy Saturday, everyone.  It’s HNIC time, once again, and tonight’s contest is against the Bruins. Brad Marchand, we have someone for you to meet!

Before we get to that game, and we’ll have a preview up later on to remind us of who the Bruins are, it’s time to catch up on some news.

The Toronto Sun (hush) has an interview up with Barb Underhill, who is leaving here position with the Leafs:

Ten years and hundreds of successful NHL students later, she leaves as one of the most respected members of the forward-thinking hockey club, among a half-dozen women on their player development side.

And, yes, the Leafs got around to building Underhill and the others a dedicated dressing room.

“I’ve seen it evolve so many ways in the respect we get. The way it’s normal for women to be in the room now is pretty cool,” said the 58-year-old in confirming to the Sun she’s leaving her post to spend more time with her family and grandchildren, though she will retain select clients with the Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning, with whom she has also worked.

It’s a good interview with a bit about how the game has changed in 10 year. Nice reminder that it is changing for a fanbase that might be too cynical sometimes.

And a reminder that there is still a lot of work to be done:

The Marlies have shaken off some of their early-season messiness.

But the real point is to listen to Mikhail Abramov’s Franco-Russian-English. Well you know...

Weeeee a goal(s):

There’s been some talk about the Leafs potentially trading a defenceman, and well:

I don’t know if that’s a good read or not, I’m just enjoying imagining Ducharme saying, Well, you know, we have three coatracks and a kitchen chair on defence, and maybe you should not fire me, with one gesture.

Have a good day, everyone, and we’ll see you later for the game day post.
