Jardine is a big, left-shooting defender, former an NCAA player, who is in his third pro season in the ECHL. He comes to the Marlies with Martin Marincin on the Leafs, filling in for an injured Nikita Soshnikov, and Timothy Liljegren on Team Sweden until the first week of January.
Jardine won’t fill those skates directly, but he will be a depth option.
Travis Dermott hasn’t played the last two games, which is curious, as he is a top-pairing guy himself. So perhaps we have an unreported injury there.
The Marlies play today in Utica, and they get to hang around to play there Friday as well. They have a few days off after, and then play the Boxing Day Calssic against the B-Sens on the 26th at the ACC.
